How long does it take?
Typically 3 to 5 working days. That covers proper strip-down, cleaning, sealing and cure time, reassembly, diagnostic verification and a road test — the stages that get squeezed when a job is done to a flat-rate clock.
What exactly is the Evidence Pack guarantee?
Three deliverables on every job: pre- and post-repair factory diagnostic phase readings, the complete photo record of your strip-down and rebuild, and every critical fastener torque-verified and witness-marked in yellow. If your job leaves without the complete pack, the complete repair is free — parts and labour, the full £1,799 or £1,999.
I've already replaced the camshaft position sensor and the fault returned. Is this me?
Almost certainly. P0341 and correlation codes on these engines are usually the chain stretching, not the sensor — the sensor just reports what the chain is doing. A stretch test on factory diagnostics confirms it before you spend anything else.
Can a stretched chain actually ruin the engine?
Yes. If a stretched chain jumps teeth, valve timing is lost and pistons can meet valves — on these engines that usually means a written-off engine, not a repair. It's the whole reason to act on the rattle early: the chain job is the cheap outcome.
Is there a warranty?
1 year or 10,000 miles on the workmanship, whichever comes first. It applies to the original purchaser of the service and isn't transferable if the car is sold.
